Day Four - Retail Therapy
We lasted till day four without a shopping expedition.
But today, Stella and I just had to have a bit of retail therapy.
Gap Kids is just six blocks away.
Here we are in the dressing room:
A little madras bubble for July.
(Stand still Stella! When you move it gets blurry.)

Sunday in the park with my cousins!!
If 3 month old Zoe can stand, I can stand!
I'm still standing ... in my yellow sweater and pink barrette
Zoe had to be picked up... BUT I'M STILL STANDING!!!
I'd like to take my first steps but I can't do it till my parents get home.
Wheeeeeee....
Day 3 - time for another bath
Zayde takes over bathing responsibilities.
The kitchen sink ... why didn't I think of that?
Self-grooming - a new skill.

Central Park
We LOVE Central Park ... it takes on a whole new dimension with a one year old.
Now I ask... with those sunglasses (covering up my wrinkles)... do I look like a grandmother or a movie star??

Zzzzzzz...
So far... so good. Day 1 was a great success. We are exhausted. Just finished off a couple of pizzas and a Bordeaux - with the help of Allie. Boogie is fast asleep. So are we... zzzzzzzz...
Rubber duckie...you're the one...
After two trips to the park, two meals and an afternoon of dragging herself along my floors ( a regular swifter!) little Boogie was very much in need of a bath. The baby bathtub I had was way too small and our regular bathtub was too big. What's a grandmother to do?? Allie arrived just in time - after a long day keeping the streets of NY safe for us all - and between the two of us, we were able to figure out a solution.
You can't tell by this adorable photo...but she hated the bath. Screamed the whole time. She can have another bath when she goes home Monday night.
However, once she was all dry, she was back to her happy go-lucky self:
Video
This is amazing..."in theory" I think I can put videos into this blog. I'm not sure how it will work but if you are able to view them you will see little Boogs shaking a rattle, hugging her favorite dog (thank you Uncle Jason) and almost walking!!! So much excitement and it's still DAY 1.
(Due to the ongoing battle between Apple and Google, you may not be able to view these videos on your i-products, but they can be viewed on a regular old fashioned computer.)
Central Park
Did you know...Central Park has 21 playgrounds??! At 10 am on a sunny spring morning, babies and mommies and nannies pour out of NYC's skyscrapers and converge on Central Park. Stella and I joined the throngs and the first playground we found had baby bucket swings. Success. We made some nice friends - to the right of Stella was another little girl who spoke Mandarin and to the left of Stella was a little girl who spoke Hebrew. Stella spoke goo-goo-ga-ga. A great time was had by all. I texted Julie a photo of Stella joyfully swinging and she sent me back a text reminding me to put on her hat.

Boogie Blog Day 1
I can't help myself. Whenever anything out of the ordinary happens in my life, I am compelled to share it with family and close friends. And so... I invite you to share this adventure of our first weekend with Stella - sans her parents.I thought - for five seconds - about what I should name this blog. Since Stella was deposited at our door this morning with a nose full of boogers, Julie's nickname for her (Boogie) became even more meaningful. Hence, the Boogie Blog.
Not at all worried about catching her cold because I still have the cold she gave me last weekend and I have every intention of giving it right back to her. It's a Boogie Fest.
So as you can see by the photo, she came right into our apartment and stood right up! Imagine, I didn't know she could walk! Actually, she doesn't walk yet and if she does walk this weekend, I have promised Julie I will not tell her because I would not want her parents to miss her first walking adventure. But she sure is doing a lot of standing.
